The Unseen Battlefield: India’s ‘Half Front’ War and the Enemies Within

Recent weeks have once again reminded the nation of the volatility brewing in Kashmir. A series of targeted terrorist attacks on civilians and security forces has shaken the Valley, with intelligence inputs pointing toward coordinated efforts backed by Pakistan. Amidst rising tension along the western border, what’s more disturbing is the visible sympathy shown by certain internal factions, those who shed tears for slain terrorists, glorify Pakistan, and disrespect Indian sovereignty. Whether it’s mobs waving Pakistani flags, or political and media figures questioning anti-terror operations, the mask of so-called secularism is falling off, revealing the harsh truth about enemies within.

India’s security establishment has long recognized the threat of a two-and-a-half front war. While the two external fronts, Pakistan and China, are visible and measurable, it is the ‘half front’ or internal war that poses the gravest danger to the fabric of Bharat. This half-front is no longer an abstract idea; it is unfolding actively, through ideological subversion, religious radicalism, political opportunism, and media manipulation.

Radicalization and Internal Islamic Threats

The half front is heavily fueled by Islamic radicalism, nurtured by Wahhabi-funded madrasas, foreign Islamist NGOs, and online indoctrination cells.

  • Kashmir, once a land of Kashmiri Hindus and Hindu civilization, has been systematically Islamized through decades of demographic aggression, violent insurgency, and the forced exodus of its native Hindu population, has been turned into a breeding ground for jihadist ideology, supported by Pakistan and subtly justified by certain Indian political groups.
  • Kerala and Bengal have seen rising pockets of Salafi Islamization, linked to ISIS sympathizers and global jihadist networks.
  • Events such as anti-CAA riots, Shaheen Bagh protests, and opposition to NRC show how radical groups mobilize under the pretense of secular protest.

This internal insurgency is not limited to weapons, it is ideological, digital, economic, and cultural.

Opposition Political Parties: Compromised and Complicit

So-called secular parties have weaponized democracy to weaken India:

  • Congress, TMC, RJD, SP, DMK and others pander to Islamist blocs, question the Indian Army, oppose surgical strikes, and echo enemy narratives.
  • During Balakot, Galwan, and Kargil, many leaders doubted national claims and disrespected military action.
  • Obstruction of investigations, shielding of radicals, and appeasement policies define their internal sabotage.

These parties serve as internal facilitators of enemy goals, eroding national will.

Left-Liberal Media: India’s Fifth Column

Sections of India’s left-leaning media and academia act as narrative warriors against national interest:

  • Labeling anti-terror operations as human rights violations
  • Glorifying urban naxals and Islamist protesters as victims
  • Promoting narratives of “Hindu majoritarianism” and “Islamophobia” to discredit national integrity

Publications like The Wire, Scroll, AltNews, and others have become platforms for ideological subversion, misreporting, and global defamation of Bharat.

Universities, NGOs, and the Intellectual Mafia

The half front finds ground in elite institutions and foreign-funded NGOs:

  • JNU, AMU, Jamia, TISS often see anti-India slogans, Maoist sympathies, and Islamist advocacy.
  • NGOs like Amnesty India and Oxfam have been accused of channeling foreign funds to propagate anti-national agendas.
  • These institutions serve as bases for psychological and ideological warfare.

The Objective of the Half Front

This war is not for territory, it aims to:

  • Weaken national unity through identity politics
  • Demoralize the security forces
  • Create civil unrest to aid external enemies
  • Influence international opinion to isolate Bharat diplomatically

The internal front seeks to destabilize the nation before any external assault begins.

The Way Forward: Defeating the Enemy Within

  1. Enforce Anti-Radicalization Measures: Monitor madrasas, NGOs, and foreign funding.
  2. Media Accountability: Penalize willful misinformation and anti-national reportage.
  3. Electoral Reforms: Ban political parties from aligning with separatist or extremist forces.
  4. Campus Surveillance: Cleanse educational institutions of radical networks.
  5. Nationalist Civic Revival: Empower grassroot groups to defend Bharat’s civilizational values.

India’s most dangerous war is not across the border but within our homes, campuses, newsrooms, and political corridors. The enemies within don’t wear uniforms; they wear the garb of liberalism, secularism, and human rights. If not confronted, this half front will succeed where external enemies have failed.

The time has come to name, shame, and dismantle these internal threats, for only then can India stand strong, united, and sovereign.
